Our Legacy
History
Established in January of 1984 by Dr. James Weatherly, EasTex Veterinary Clinic was originally between Highway 59 and Highway 259 North. In a building of only 900 square feet and cattle pens without roofs, Dr. Weatherly worked 80-100 hours a week for 16 years, accompanied by his retired father. In 2000, Dr. Jason Richards joined Dr. Weatherly to build EasTex Veterinary Clinic into much of what it is today. Over the course of the next decade, the clinic transitioned from a primary large animal clinic to a mixed animal clinic. With the communities needs in the forefront of Dr. Richards and Dr. Weatherly's minds the clinic became a staple in East Texas for quality veterinary care. |
Future
In 2015, Dr. Weatherly officially retired from veterinary work. He is now enjoying some much deserved time with family and friends. Also in 2015, Dr. Acuña joined Dr. Richards as a co-owner of the practice. Since then, we have gained a new Doctor, Dr. Josh Haddox. Today, our clinic is compromised of a 5,000 square foot small animal facility, a 12,000 square foot large animal facility, and an on site crematory. Dr. Richards, Dr. Acuña, and Dr. Haddox all work as full-time veterinarians. We appreciate our Patients and their owners as you each are a huge part of our success. |
